North of England Brass Band Championships

Catterick Brass competed in the Second Section at the 2010 North of England Brass Band Championships and in our very first public performance were awarded 2nd place and an invitation to the National finals at Harrogate.
4Barsrest reported of an "impressive challenge of debutants Catterick Brass, who qualified for Harrogate at their first attempt." and that "former Leyland principal euphonium Brenden Wheeler showed that he is enjoying his Army career with a fine performance with Catterick Brass to take the euphonium prize."

"The Second Secton made up in quality for the low entry (4 bands).
Adjudicator David Lancaster commented on the high quality of the music played.
The performance of day came from winning band Catterick (Stewart Halliday).
Their exciting rendition of Philip Harper's 'Kingdom of the Dragons' left the audience cheering!"
